Mastectomy fittings are one of the most important services we offer at Vicanie's. In most cases, about six to eight weeks following surgery, you can be fitted for a new breast form/prosthesis. A proper fitting bra is the initial step in finding the proper form. Once a comfortable bra is chosen, several shapes and sizes of forms can be tried on until you achieve the right fit for you.

Breast forms are available in many shapes and sizes to balance with the natural contours of your own breast and are generally made from silicone.

There are also breast forms that can adhere/attach to the chest wall with the option to still be worn inside a pocketed bra.

Brands such as Anita, Amoena, ABC offer many styles and colours of bras with pockets in the cups, or we can adapt your favourite bra.

A proper fitting form not only restores visual balance but is paramount in maintaining a healthy postural balance. Wearing a form daily maintains the body's alignment, avoiding problems with back muscles and posture.

As our bodies naturally "shift" we recommend having your form refitted every two years.
